The world premiere for the upcoming film, "Oceans 13," may be held at The Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where several of the scenes were shot.
The remake of the original "Ocean's Eleven" was supposed to premiere at Bellagio in 2001, but the Sept. 11 terrorist attack raised concerns about security, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. "Security issues don't exist now," said producer Jerry Weintraub. "It's a big city now, and I've got some ideas."
Weintraub said MGM Mirage bosses Terry Lanni and Bobby Baldwin have been terrific to the film company. Ocean’s 13 is the third film in the successful heist franchise from director Steven Soderbergh. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon
and the rest of the original gang are all set to reprise their roles. Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones are not expected to return. The sequel is scripted by Brian Koppelman and David Levien
Scenes were shot in Las Vegas over three days this week, including one at the $1.6 billion, 3,025-room Palazzo construction site. That's where Al Pacino's character, Willie Bank, will build a casino in the movie, Weintraub said.
